Focus Areas

ADHD

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder marked by significant challenges with attention, disorganization, and hyperactivity-impulsivity that interfere with daily functioning. For younger children, play therapy offers a way to express feelings and develop coping strategies through play. Additionally, techniques such as mindfulness and relaxation strategies can help improve focus while reducing impulsivity and anxiety.

Anxiety

Anxiety is a common emotion that can be helpful, but when it becomes overwhelming, it can disrupt daily life and relationships. If you're often feeling worried or fearful, we can help you challenge negative thoughts and find strategies for a calmer, more balanced life. Treatment options may include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), among others.

Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar Disorder causes significant mood swings that can make daily tasks challenging. Our counseling services offer a balanced approach to help you manage these fluctuations. We focus on identifying and changing difficult emotions and thoughts to promote greater stability, primarily through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other effective modalities. With our support, you can discover strategies to navigate the highs and lows more effectively.

Depression

Depression is characterized by a persistent low mood or a loss of interest in activities, often leading to feelings of tiredness, irritability, and hopelessness. If you're experiencing these symptoms, we're here to help you confront negative thoughts and emotions with empathy and effective strategies. Our approaches include mindfulness techniques, analytical psychotherapy, and methods from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you rediscover joy and light.

Eating Disorders

Eating Disorders involve unhealthy eating behaviors that negatively impact physical and mental health, with main types including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder. Effective recovery often requires a collaborative team of counselors, nutritional specialists, primary care providers, and psychiatrists, with family-based treatment enhancing outcomes, especially for adolescents. Our counselors utilize various methods, including Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-e), to help you develop healthy eating habits and address distorted thoughts.

Grief

Grief is a natural reaction to significant loss, like the death of a loved one or a serious illness, often marked by intense feelings of sadness, anger, guilt, and despair. Seeking help in these circumstances can offer support, coping strategies, and a pathway to healing, enhancing overall quality of life. Grief counseling specifically helps you process your emotions and develop skills to manage these intense feelings.

Substance Use Disorder (SUD)

Substance Use Disorder (SUD) is a disease that affects brain chemistry, resulting in a loss of control over drug, alcohol, or medication use. Common types include Opioid, Marijuana, Nicotine, Stimulant, Sedative, Hallucinogen, and Alcohol Use Disorders. We focus on helping you understand your addiction, promote relapse prevention, and connect you to community resources. Treatment options include individual, group, or family therapy, along with referrals to outpatient, residential, or inpatient care as needed.

Trauma / PTSD

Trauma / PTSD can deeply affect your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, leading to ongoing distress that impacts daily life and relationships. Trauma therapy helps you to understand how past experiences affect your present, alleviating overstimulation, anxiety, and depression while recognizing trauma's impact on both the brain and body, particularly the autonomic nervous system. The goal is to equip you with tools to overcome trauma-related challenges and lead a healthier, more fulfilling life in a safe, supportive environment.
