Counseling is a collaborative partnership between you and a trained professional, aimed at helping you identify your wellness goals and develop effective solutions. This process seeks to alleviate emotional distress, improve relationships, enhance interpersonal skills, address mental health issues, and support you in the challenging journey of personal change.
Therapy can be helpful if you face significant distress or challenges that negatively impact your life. Counseling offers a supportive environment where you can explore your challenges and foster personal growth. Whether you're new to counseling or looking for a different approach, it's important to find a counselor who fits your needs. You can trust that our professional counselors offer skillful, authentic, and professional services. Please contact us to see how we can help you.
GulfView does not bill insurance directly; clients are responsible for service fees. While we are out of network with insurance providers, you may use your benefits for reimbursement, and superbills are available upon request to assist with filing claims. Direct payment lets your counselor focus on your needs without managed care restrictions, enhancing your confidentiality. Please contact us for more information.
After discussing services with the office staff, you'll be invited to create a Client Portal account through Simple Practice. You’ll need to verify your account using a valid email, allowing you to complete the necessary forms before the intake session. This includes the Notice of Privacy Practices for HIPAA compliance, informed consent forms, and other policies and authorizations. Please fill out your Client Portal and intake forms thoroughly. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us for assistance. Once all documentation is complete, you can schedule your intake appointment with your therapist.
Certainly! Counselors prioritize the confidentiality of both prospective and current clients. They only disclose information with appropriate consent or valid legal or ethical justification. The confidentiality requirement may be overridden in situations where disclosure is necessary to protect clients or identifiable others from serious harm, or when mandated reporting laws require sharing confidential information. For more details on confidentiality, please refer to the Notice of Privacy Practices and Informed Consent documentation.
Mental health care is unique for each person, depending on symptom severity, available support, and individual efforts outside of counseling. To provide the best care, clients should collaborate with their counselor to determine the frequency and duration of sessions. Generally, expect to have weekly or biweekly appointments for at least 10 sessions, continuing as necessary.
At this time, we do not have any prescribers on our staff and offer psychotherapy only. However, should our clinicians assess that medication is a necessary component of your treatment plan, we do offer referrals and work with your prescribers closely to ensure that your medication is working for you.
